The Nanda Empire, established by Mahapadma Nanda, was a vast and powerful empire in ancient India. Dhana Nanda, the last king, was known for his immense wealth and military might but was unpopular due to heavy taxation and autocratic rule. His policies led to public discontent and resentment among the Brahmans and Kshatriyas. Chanakya, a professor from Taxila, sought Dhana Nanda's support to protect India but was insulted and vowed revenge. He trained Chandragupta Maurya, who eventually overthrew the Nanda Empire, marking the rise of the Mauryan Empire in 321 BC.
