The Human Development Index (HDI) measures the quality of life of countries beyond economic indicators. The HDI of Brazil has grown year by year and reached the following levels: 0.600 in 1990; 0.665 in 2000; 0.715 in 2010. The closer to 1.00, the greater the development of the country. Observing the behavior of the HDI in the cited periods, it is found that, throughout the period 1990-2010, the Brazilian HDI:
