Definition of aircraft

GPWS provides auto warnings for:

• Excessive descent rate, ground proximity, altitude loss after take-off and excessive descent below glidepath

PIC of an IFR flight should not take off unless:

• 1 hr prior and 1 hour after ETA, destination aerodrome is at or above aerodrome alternate minima

• Conditions at destination or alternate is above aerodrome operating minima

• Alternate aerodrome is 1hr away from destination should conditions be below operating minima at ETA

PIC of aeroplane planning IFR flight (wording exact): [237/238]

• Shall not take off unless cloud base at destination aerodrome is 1000ft above instrument approach minima

• May take off in marginal meteorological conditions when on urgent mission and cleared by ATC

• Shall not take off unless cloud base at destination at estimated time of arrival is less than 1000ft above instrument approach minima

• May take off when RVR > 400m
