Factorizing AC Method

To factor 2x² +11x + 5, write the middle term using the 2 numbers that multiply to ___ and add to ___, make sure to include the "x". Write it like this:

• 10; 11; 2x² + 5x +2x + 5

• 22; 5; 2x² + 9x +2x + 5

• 10; 11; 2x² + 10x +x + 5

• 10; 11; 2x² + x +10x + 5

Factor Completely:  6x² + 5x - 6

• 6(x + 1)(x - 6)

• (6x + 6)(x - 1)

• (2x - 3)(3x + 2)

• (3x - 2)(2x + 3)

Factor (Harder Trinomial):
4x² - 8x + 3

• (2x - 1) (2x - 3)

• (2x + 1) (2x + 3)

• (4x + 1) (x + 3)

• (4x - 1) (x - 3)

Solve by factoring:  2x²+ 7x + 6 = 0

• x= 3/2 and x = 2

• x = -3/2 and x = -2

• x = 6 and x = 7

• x = -6 and x = -7
