Pre-Evaluation of blood sampling skills

The main anticoagulant for anticoagulation study:

• Sodium citrate

• Sodium fluoride

• sodium oxalate

• All Above.

If you are injured by needle you should first:

• Squeeze out injured site.

• Call infection control representative.

• Wash your hands.

• All above.

Phlebotomist will not collect blood from:

• I.V site.

• Arterials lines.

• All above.

• None above.

The tourniquet should be applied for:

• No longer than 5 minutes.

• No longer than 1 minute.

• As long as you please.

• No longer than 3 minutes.

How to deal with the patient when a hematoma occurred??

• Remove tourniquet & stop vein puncture immediately

• Remove tourniquet & continue with the vein puncture process

• Put a cold compress on the affected spots
