Yellowstone National Park is home to a delicate ecosystem of animals, plants, and landscapes. When wolves were removed from the park, the population of certain animals, such as elk, increased dramatically. These animals began browsing on young trees and plants, which affected the forest’s ability to grow. However, the reintroduction of wolves led to a powerful change. As natural predators, the wolves helped reduce the number of grazing animals. This allowed the forest to begin regeneration, and slowly, biodiversity started to return to the area.
