Camera is on a track that allows it to move with the action.  It may be used to follow in front, behind, or next to a character.

• Zoom
• Dolly/Tracking

Most common editing technique.  Two pieces of film are spliced together to change to a different image.

When the camera is stationary but pivots to watch an object moving horizontally:
