There is something called the 45-degree rule that states that you should support any overhang that is at a 45 degree angle or greater. Is it possible to print without support if an overhang is more than 45 degrees?

• Yes.

If you have material with an overhang of 90 degrees, you can print that unsupported if the span of the overhang is no more than

What does the darker blue represent?

• It is where the support material contacts the model. It is more dense in order to hold tightly to the model.

• This is the release material. It is less dense in order to make it easier to release.

Which setting creates more support material?

• Everywhere

• Touching the buildplate

Creating support material "everywhere" means you will have more support material to remove. What is the best setting for this model?

• Support "everywhere" is necessary because the model's fingers would otherwise be completely unsupported.

• Support "touching buildplate" is fine because the fingers are so small that that they fall under the 5mm rule and do not need support.

Remember the 45-degree rule? You should use support material for anything that has an overhang of 45 degrees or more. However, you can get away with overhangs of more than 45 degrees without support. The narrator feels the limit is _____ degrees.
