Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809, in England. He initially studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh but switched to theology at Cambridge. Influenced by a botany professor, he joined the Beagle's crew, collecting data that led to his theory of natural selection. Darwin married his cousin Emma and had ten children. His seminal work, 'On the Origin of Species,' was published in 1859. Darwin passed away in 1882 and was buried in Westminster Abbey.
