Dr. George Brown from Bless Your Allergy and Asthma explains how to use two types of epinephrine injectors: the VQ and the EpiPen. The VQ, also known as the talking EpiPen, provides verbal instructions and requires the removal of a red safety guard before use. The EpiPen comes in a hard case and requires the removal of a blue safety cap. Both injectors are used by pressing against the outer thigh and counting to five or ten, respectively. After use, it's important to call 911. Both devices are single-use and should be disposed of safely.
