In ancient Greece, King Midas loved his daughter, his rose garden, and gold. One night, he helped a satyr, who was a friend of the god Dionysus. As a reward, Dionysus granted Midas a wish. Midas wished that everything he touched would turn to gold. Initially delighted, Midas soon realized the curse of his wish when he couldn't eat and accidentally turned his daughter into gold. In despair, he begged Dionysus to reverse the wish. His daughter was restored, and Midas learned the value of contentment over greed.
