Acrisius sets them adrift, but they find refuge on Serapis. Perseus grows up and is sent on a quest by King Polydectes to retrieve Medusa's head. With divine assistance, Perseus beheads Medusa and uses her head to turn Polydectes to stone, saving his mother and living happily thereafter.
