Emily Dickinson, a renowned US poet, was known for her reclusive lifestyle, which allowed her to write extensively. Born in 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts, she was a bright student who attended Amherst Academy and Mount Holyoke Seminary. Dickinson was skeptical of conventional religion, often identifying as 'unsaved.' After leaving school, she spent most of her time writing poetry, maintaining close relationships with friends and family, particularly her sister-in-law Susan. Despite her reclusiveness, Dickinson's work gained recognition posthumously, with her first poetry volume published in 1890 and a complete collection in 1955. Her nearly 1800 poems continue to be celebrated today.
