Pterosaurs were flying reptiles that dominated the Mesozoic skies. Unlike birds, they were the first vertebrates to fly, with species ranging from the small anurognathus to the massive quetzalcoatlus. Their wings were supported by elongated digits and consisted of a tough membrane. Despite their size, many pterosaurs had hollow bones, aiding in flight. However, not all could fly, as seen in the specimen nicknamed Dracula. Fossil discoveries continue to reveal more about these creatures, though their hollow bones often result in incomplete fossils.
