In 79 AD, Mount Vesuvius erupted, burying Pompeii and Herculaneum. In 1752, workers found carbonized scrolls in Herculaneum. Researchers from Brigham Young University have been studying these scrolls since 1999, creating a digital archive. The scrolls may contain works by Aristotle and other authors, but are rapidly deteriorating.
