World’s first tilt-rotor e-taxi could be flying passengers as soon as 2024

Vertical Aerospace has unveiled the V A1X, a vector thrust flying taxi that could begin commercial flights by 2024. The aircraft, which will be built in Bristol, is the first certified winged all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (EVTOL) aircraft. It is 30 times quieter than a conventional helicopter and uses less energy, thanks to its lithium-ion batteries and distributed propulsion system. The V A1X can fly up to 100 miles at speeds of 150 mph, accommodating four passengers and one pilot. With a wingspan of over 49 feet and a 42-foot fuselage, it can use existing helipads.
