ClearSpace wins contract for space debris collecting spacecraft: ESA

The ESA has contracted Swiss startup Clear Space to launch Clear Space One, a spacecraft designed to capture space debris. The mission will target the Vespa payload adapter, left in orbit since 2013. Clear Space One will undergo testing in a 500 km orbit before moving to Vespa's higher orbit. Once positioned, it will use robotic arms to capture Vespa and then burn up in Earth's atmosphere.
