The International Committee of the Red Cross has called for the immediate and unconditional release of its staff kidnapped in northwest Syria. Three of the six hostages were released safely, but there is no contact with the remaining three. The Red Cross, one of the few humanitarian organizations operating in rebel-controlled areas, was assessing medical facilities and providing aid when the kidnapping occurred between Sarmín and Saraqeb. A local NGO attributes the kidnapping to jihadists.
