States settle $700 million lawsuit over allegedly harmful Johnson & Johnson products

Johnson & Johnson faced a lawsuit from 42 states for misleading customers about the safety of its talc-based baby powder, which was found to sometimes contain asbestos, a harmful substance linked to cancer. Although the company did not admit guilt, it has since reformulated the baby powder to primarily use cornstarch.
