A suicide car bomb attack in Sirte killed five and injured over 30 government loyalists. The attack occurred in a residential area, the last significant ISIL stronghold in the city. Libyan forces, backed by the UN, have regained most of Sirte since June. Libya has been in chaos since Gaddafi's fall in 2011, with armed militias vying for power and ISIL affiliates emerging. Since 2014, Libya has been divided between two governments, each with its own parliament. The UN established a unity government to bridge these divisions.
