VOICED : Una carcel en el desierto

Ancón II is a modern prison in Peru, housing many European women convicted of drug trafficking. The prison is located in a remote desert area, adding to the isolation of its inmates. Many of these women, like Isabel and Paola, turned to drug trafficking due to unemployment. The prison authorities are implementing a new model focusing on work and education, offering activities such as hairdressing, textiles, gastronomy, and jewelry making. Inmates live in harsh conditions with shared facilities and cold water. Upon release, they are celebrated with a small ceremony and song.
