The Boxer Rebellion was an uprising in 1900 by the Righteous Fists of Harmony, known as the Boxers, against foreign influence and Christianity in China. The Boxers, believing in martial arts for invulnerability, attacked foreigners and Chinese Christians. The Qing Dynasty, under Empress Dowager Cixi, faced internal strife and external pressures. The rebellion escalated, leading to international military intervention. Allied forces captured Beijing, leading to peace negotiations and the eventual fall of the Qing Dynasty.
