Constance Baker Motley was a trailblazer in civil rights, breaking numerous barriers as a lawyer, judge, and politician. She was the second black woman to graduate from Columbia Law School and worked with the NAACP to challenge segregation. Motley argued ten cases before the US Supreme Court, winning nine. Despite facing racism and sexism, she became the first African-American woman elected to the New York State Senate and a US federal judge, paving the way for diversity in law and politics.
