The UK Prime Minister must meet with the Queen before elections. After five years, the Queen dissolves Parliament, prompting elections in 650 constituencies across the UK. Each constituency has about 60,000 electors who vote for candidates. The candidate with the most votes wins a seat. The party leader with the majority of seats becomes Prime Minister and forms the government. If no party gains a majority, the party with the most seats may form a coalition with smaller parties like the Liberal Democrats.
