U.S. and Cuban organizations sent over eight tons of food to Cuba, including canned tuna and pasta, as part of ongoing aid efforts. The U.S. embargo and pandemic have worsened food and medicine shortages in Cuba. Previously, these organizations sent six million syringes for COVID-19 vaccinations. Since March 2020, Cubans have faced long lines and soaring food prices. Cuba has also received aid from countries like Russia, China, and Mexico.
