VOICED : Guatemaltecos marchan contra la corrupción y denuncian fraude en universidad

In Guatemala, thousands of indigenous students and social groups protested against President Alejandro Giammattei and other officials, denouncing corruption and electoral fraud. They also opposed the persecution of media directors. The protestors called for international support to combat corruption in the government. Giammattei and the Attorney General, Consuelo Porras, were accused of fostering corruption. Porras was sanctioned by the U.S. after dismissing Juan Francisco Sandoval, an anti-corruption leader. Sandoval suspected Russian businessmen of bribing Giammattei for port operations.
