Pod Of Orcas Take Down Minke Whale | SNAPPED IN THE WILD

In eastern Russia, a group of scientists and tourists led by photographer Mikhail Karostalev witnessed transient orcas hunting a minky whale. Orcas are categorized into residents, who stay in one place and eat fish, and transients, who roam and hunt larger prey. These types do not interbreed and have distinct social structures. The transient orcas were observed weighing down the minky whale to prevent it from breathing, eventually killing it. For the first time, scientists recorded the orcas' communication after the hunt, hoping to gain insights into their social interactions.
