Mosquitoes are attracted to red and orange colors due to their wavelengths, which are similar to human skin tones. Researchers suggest wearing light blue clothing to repel mosquitoes by covering the skin with a color they are not attracted to. However, the combination of carbon dioxide from human breath and these colors is what truly attracts mosquitoes. When researchers blocked mosquitoes' ability to sense either carbon dioxide or the preferred wavelengths, the mosquitoes no longer approached.
