Introduction to Tapirs: Habitat, Characteristics, and Behavior

Tapirs are herbivorous mammals found in South America, parts of Asia, and are known for their unique appearance, including a stocky body and a long snout. There are four species: Brazilian, Baird's, Malayan, and mountain tapirs. They feed on leaves, fruits, and branches. Tapirs are social animals, often living in groups or pairs, and are excellent swimmers, frequently found in rivers and streams.
