Two More Parents Convicted In Varsity Blues Scandal

The Varsity Blues scandal involves parents bribing to get their children into prestigious colleges as athletic recruits. Wilson and Abdelaziz are the first to stand trial, with Wilson paying $1,000,000 for his daughters' admission to Harvard and Stanford, and Abdelaziz paying $300,000 for his daughter's admission to USC. Both claimed they thought they were making legitimate donations, blaming Rick Singer, the admissions consultant. Singer has pleaded guilty to several charges but has not been sentenced yet. The two parents will be sentenced in February.
