VOICED : En busca de las palabras perdidas en hebreo

Gabriel Birbaum is part of a project to define Hebrew words from ancient to modern times. The project, initiated by the Academy of Israel for Hebrew in 1959, involves analyzing fragments from the Dead Sea, including biblical texts. Hebrew, once a spoken language, faded during the Jewish exile but was revived in the 19th century and became Israel's official language in 1948. Eleazar ben Yehuda, a key figure in this revival, began the first modern Hebrew dictionary. Today, around 20 people work on the dictionary, with 50,000 words available online.
