VOICED : Crisis migratoria en Kos preocupa a Grecia

The Greek island of Kos is overwhelmed by migrants from Syria and Afghanistan, with around 7,000 people waiting for documents to seek asylum in Europe. Many have lost everything, including family and education. Due to clashes between local authorities and migrants, Athens has sent police reinforcements. The mayor of Kos has requested increased EU financial aid, emphasizing that Greece is a transit point for migrants heading to other European countries. Approximately 124,000 migrants have arrived in Greece this year, as the route through Greece is considered shorter and safer than via Italy. However, Kos lacks the necessary facilities to accommodate the migrants, leaving them without proper care.
