Colombian farmers and military collaborate to eradicate illegal coca plantations in Yali. Soldiers ensure security while farmers carry out the task. Over 100 hectares have been destroyed in three months. A small cocaine lab was also dismantled. Colombia is the second-largest coca producer after Peru, with 48,000 hectares dedicated to coca cultivation, mainly in Nariño, Putumayo, and Catatumbo. The government and FARC have been negotiating since 2012 to end the armed conflict, reaching a drug agreement for consensual crop substitution and forced eradication if necessary.
