Refugees, evacuated from Tachen Islands after bombing by China, arrive at their new homes in Taiwan

Refugees from the Tashan Islands were evacuated to Formosa by the U.S. 7th Fleet, escaping the threat of communist guns. On Formosa, they received aid from various organizations to build new homes and communities. Eighteen thousand people are now establishing cooperatives and shops, finding a promising future on the Nationalist stronghold of Formosa.
