China upping its intimidation game in the South China Sea

The US-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has reported increased aggressive patrolling by Chinese ships, which are now also targeting areas like Vanguard Bank, claimed by Vietnam. This has led to Vietnam canceling a drilling project. Beijing's persistent patrols aim to normalize its presence and strengthen its territorial claims.
