VOICED : Miles vuelven a protestar en Chile para pedir renuncia de Piñera

On a Friday in Santiago, around 10,000 Chileans protested against the government of Sebastián Piñera, reigniting social unrest and violent clashes with police that began in October of the previous year. The protest, organized via social media, took place near the Government House and moved along Avenida Alameda. Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse masked groups throwing stones and burning public transport stops. Many protesters were affected by chemicals, leading to vomiting and collapsing. Despite lacking a leader or organized group, protests returned to Santiago's streets, albeit less massive due to the pandemic. Protests also occurred in Concepción, Antofagasta, and Valparaíso. The October 25 plebiscite, with a 78% approval, paved the way for drafting a new constitution to move beyond the dictatorship's legacy.
