VOICED : Senado chileno aprueba aborto en tres causales a un paso de ley

The Chilean Senate approved a bill to decriminalize abortion in cases of risk to the mother's life, fetal inviability, and rape. The bill will now move to the Chamber of Deputies. If passed, it will remove Chile from the list of countries that prohibit abortion in all cases. The opposition plans to challenge the bill in the Constitutional Tribunal. Officially, Chile records about 30,000 abortions annually, but estimates suggest clandestine abortions could be as high as 160,000.
