Juan Sebastián Varón, a renowned midfield player, began his career with Boca Juniors in 1996. He made his international debut for Argentina the same year and later joined Sampdoria. In 1998, he moved to Parma, contributing to their Coppa Italia victory. Varón then transferred to SS Lazio, where he played a key role in their success. In 2001, he joined Manchester United, facing challenges but eventually excelling in the Champions League. In 2004, Varón was named in the FIFA 100 list by Pele. He was expected to be a key player for Argentina in the 2006 World Cup.
