The Man Who Travelled to the Underworld to Find His Lost Love

The story of Orpheus and Eurydice is a tragic tale from Greek mythology. Orpheus, a famous poet and musician, falls in love with Eurydice, and they marry. However, on their wedding day, Eurydice dies from a snake bite. Overcome with grief, Orpheus travels to the underworld to bring her back. His music convinces Hades and Persephone to release her, but with the condition that he must not look back at her until they reach the surface. Unable to resist, Orpheus turns to see Eurydice, causing her to vanish forever.
