VOICED : Solar powered lamps light the way in Mali

The Foroba Yelen project provides portable lamps to rural Mali, where electricity is scarce. Designed by Matteo Ferroni, these lamps are made from local materials and produced using local expertise. They are rented out for $0.40 per night, offering economic benefits to villagers, especially women who work at night. The lamps also support education and social activities. Funded by the Swiss Foundation Eland, the project plans to expand to more villages, enhancing community life with sustainable lighting solutions.
