In October 1997, a British team in Nevada aimed to break the world land speed record with their vehicle, Thrust. After initial success, they faced weather and budget challenges. Despite these, a break in the weather allowed Andy Green to make a final attempt, achieving a peak speed of 1233 km/h and breaking the sound barrier, setting a record that still stands.
