In Montevideo, a 24-hour strike left buses empty as cooperatives faced financial difficulties due to the withdrawal of credit from the state bank. Taxi drivers and other cooperatives joined in solidarity, warning that 600 families could lose their livelihood if the bank does not resume credit.
