Japan publicly unveiled its future helicopter carrier, Izumo, the largest military ship since WWII. Still under construction in Yokohama, it will cost over a billion dollars and be operational by 2015. The launch ceremony occurs amid tensions with China and South Korea over territorial disputes and coincides with the 68th anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing.
