In Mexico, protesters, including students and families of the 43 missing Yotzinapa students, demand truth in a new investigation. A Truth Commission was established, and the Fiscalía pledged to restart the investigation. The students were allegedly handed over to a cartel by corrupt police in 2014. Under President Peña Nieto, a controversial 'Historical Truth' concluded that the students were killed and incinerated, but many confessions were obtained under torture. Recently, 77 detainees were released due to these coerced testimonies.
