Exploring the Kingdom of Fungi

Fungi are distinct from plants, classified in their own kingdom. Unlike plants, fungi are heterotrophs, obtaining energy from external sources. They exhibit unique characteristics, such as being unicellular or multicellular, but do not grow as large as many plants. The fungi kingdom includes over 100,000 species, divided into four major groups. While some fungi cause diseases, many play crucial roles in decomposition and medicine production.
