Construction begins on largest solar farm in the U.S.

The Samsung Solar Energy Center in the US will generate 1013 megawatts of renewable energy, surpassing the Gemini Solar project. Developed by Envanergy, it will power 300,000 homes and cover 6734 acres across several counties. The project will be completed in five phases by 2023. Agreements are in place with major brands and Texas cities for energy use. In 2019, solar power contributed 2% to US electricity, with Texas ranking fourth in solar capacity but leading in wind energy production.
