VOICED : La violencia mata el turismo en Acapulco

In the 1950s, Acapulco was a popular paradise for tourists, including Hollywood celebrities. However, it is now known for having the highest homicide rates in Mexico, with over 500 murders reported since January. This rise in crime has drastically reduced tourism, which once thrived with thousands of American students and numerous cruise ships. The city plans to revive tourism by creating a secure tourist zone under the Escudo Acapulco operation.
