Cristina Kirchner, former Argentine president and current senatorial candidate, accuses President Mauricio Macri of political persecution and undermining democracy. She is summoned for questioning regarding a cover-up of the 1994 AMIA bombing, which killed 85 people. The late prosecutor Alberto Nisman accused Kirchner of attempting to shield Iranian suspects in exchange for trade deals. Kirchner's court appearance is scheduled four days after the October 22 legislative elections, where she is expected to win a senate seat.
