A scientific analysis attributes this extreme heat wave to human-induced climate change, which has increased the likelihood of such events. Although rare, these heat waves are expected to become more frequent and intense as global warming progresses. The World Weather Attribution predicts that what is now considered a once-in-a-millennium event could occur every five to ten years if the Earth warms by another 1.4 degrees, a scenario that could unfold in the next 40 to 50 years if carbon emissions continue at their current rate.
