U.S. Employers Hired 266,000 People In November

In November, job growth exceeded expectations with over 100,000 more jobs than in October, marking the largest increase since January. Unemployment fell to 3.5%, a 50-year low, while wages rose by 3.1% compared to the previous year. Significant job growth occurred in education, health services, manufacturing, leisure, and hospitality sectors. Economists had predicted around 187,000 new jobs with no change in unemployment. The unexpected rise partly resulted from General Motors employees returning to work after a six-week strike, contributing 40,000 jobs to the November count.
